Colorado Housing Enterprises (CHE)

Colorado Housing Enterprises (CHE) is an affiliate of CRDHC. CHE is a Certified Development Financial Institution and provides low interest loans (always at least one percent below market rate, and often as low as two to three percent below market rate) and/or down payment and closing cost assistance to qualifying families earning between 80 percent and 115 percent of the area median income. Since its inception in 1996, CHE has partnered with various banks, governments and corporations to loan $38 million dollars in first mortgages and helped nearly 300 families purchase their own home.

CHE is a non-profit organization that works like a mortgage broker, offering:

  • Flexible Mortgage Programs - Special first and second mortgage programs are available for qualified borrowers. These programs may help individuals qualify for a mortgage by offering lower interest rates, lower down payment requirements, no mortgage insurance premiums and/or more flexible qualifying requirements.
  • Low interest first and second mortgages
  • Regular interest mortgages
  • Matching individuals with the loan that is most advantageous for them
  • Credit counseling � step by step help to make clients understand how to obtain a mortgage
  • CHE offers a completely open loan process; all documents and wording is fully explained
  • All loans have a one percent origination fee
  • CHE has lower closing costs than most other mortgage loan companies
  • Financial education is key to teaching individuals how to obtain the best mortgage possible. Through classes and credit counseling, CHE helps client every step of the way.
